Serbian PayPal

Belgrade, Blogroll, Cyberculture, World wide, general, internet — Danica @ 3:27 pm, January 30, 2007

So, I got reply from PayPal service (my dear surprise last evening), when I was informed that: unfortunately, they are not yet providing services for Serbian Establishing PP in each new country or region THAT involves complex changes due to different regulations (!#$%$#oh my!#$%) . Serbia=complex! Ok! And continued (person from PayPal Global Services akka eBay Company): “We are always looking to expand our availability; however, due to the complexities of global expansion, we cannot provide specific time frame. We are working hard and look forward to expanding our services to additional countries and regions in the future.” Sour and…and here is, FYI, the list of the PP worldwide countries.

Cruz is the best-actress Oscar nominee

World wide, art, culture, film, general, media — Danica @ 2:02 pm, January 28, 2007

Was it my personal critics or intuition that “Volver”, anounced at FEST, will be nominated this year. Penelope Cruz is nominated for Best Actress for Almodovar’s film, tragicomic drama (which means to return). This is first best-actress nominee in Oscar history to have garnered her honour starring an all-Spanish language film. Interesting fact is that performance already has won her a share of the best-actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival last May and a best-actress nomination from the European Film Awards. Other nominations.

PayPal and map accessibility?

Blogroll, Cyberculture, Serbia, World wide, culture, internet — Danica @ 10:00 pm, January 26, 2007

PayPal doesn’t work for Serbia, or Serbia and Montenegro, or Yugoslavia , or former Yugoslavia. How simple and european it is and how difficult and non-fair is! How the one shall select the country without “country/region” accessibility in Web world? Maybe moving to Bahrain is the answer?

LG Electronics has unveiled the fruits of a mobile phone design partnership with Italian fashion goods maker Prada, reports Macworld UK. According to a press release on Monday, the first Prada telephone by LG will combine high-end technology with avant-garde design offering the best in both style and performance. The Prada Phone comes in glossy black and is a mere 12mm thick and looks a lot like Apple’s recently announced iPhone. LG has no plans to sell this in the U.S. It’s set to bow in Europe (UK, France, Germany and Italy) in February for 600 euros ($780) before moving on to Asia. The Devil is Calling;-)

pre - Silence

Belgrade, Serbia, World wide, culture, general, internet, media — Danica @ 10:03 pm, January 18, 2007

The pre-election silence before the Parliamentary elections in Serbia, scheduled for 21 January, starts at Thursday midnight. And that’s about it. Second time around cute black labrador, my neighbors male dog, popped up on me today. Baby big dog. And as I had great no queue (at ALL!) issue at the post-office - happily continued my way and saw this great design poster (someone made in Serbia), didn’t notice the discounts - i am not that maniac, thank you. Epiphany at the midnight! In Serbian- bogojavljenje. Just like that. Finally, silencio. What’s your wish?

Indeed, one step towards EU, moments to remember ‘remember’ for a very good reasons or some/thing else?    Video One and Video Two.
